Privacy Policy

ShadeSet analyzes a photo you choose to share to give you seasonal color guidance for style. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we will never do with it.

What your photo is used for

With your explicit consent, ShadeSet reads the visible coloring in your photo — undertone, value, chroma, and contrast — to match you to one of twelve style seasons. That is the whole job. ShadeSet does not assess health, attractiveness, body shape, race, ethnicity, or identity, and does not make inferences about any of them.

How analysis works

Your photo and analysis request are processed by OpenAI's API, acting as our processor, to produce your result. Photos are transmitted securely, and EXIF metadata (such as location) is stripped before any server-side storage. We never log raw photos.

What we store

• Account: ShadeSet uses Sign in with Apple. We store your Apple-provided user identifier and, if you share it, your email address.
• Results: your analyses, saved reference sheets, outfits, and wardrobe items are stored privately, isolated per user, so only you can access them.
• Source photos: storing the photo behind an analysis is opt-in. If you don't opt in, the photo is used for the analysis and not retained by us.
• Purchases: purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
• Waitlist: if you join the waitlist on this site, we store your email address to send you one launch announcement. You can unsubscribe with one tap, and we delete addresses on request.

Deletion is real

You can delete individual photos, results, or your entire account inside the app at any time. Account deletion removes your rows, your stored files, and your auth record from our servers — not just locally. Deleted means deleted.

What we never do

• No selling or sharing of your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• No health, race, ethnicity, identity, or attractiveness inference.
• No claims of perfect accuracy — every analysis shows its confidence.
• No cross-site trackers or advertising cookies on this website — at most anonymous, cookie-free page counts.
